With the onset of 2016, the iconic Diggi Palace of the Pink City, Jaipur is set to host the famous Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) from 21st to 25th January. A literary extravaganza, JLF will welcome almost 222 speakers from 20 different countries who will share their wisdom during 5-days of thought-provoking readings, debates and discussions. Seminars, Debates and Much More
JLF is like a carnival where world’s finest minds come together to share their ideas through various seminars, discussions and debates. From Nobel Laureates, Man Booker’s Prize Winners to Debutants Authors- JLF promises an ensemble of some of the greatest intellectuals from all walks of life.
This year taking the celebration to another level, well-known names from fields like literature, journalism, cinema and politics, will grace the occasion with their presence. The list is long but some of these include Amish Tripathi, Barkha Dutt, Karan Johar, Javed Akhtar, Margaret Atwood, Shashi Tharoor, Shobha De, Ruskin Bond, and Stephen Fry. Also, sessions and debates would revolve around themes like migrant literature, oral translations & bilingualism, a brief history of privacy and philosophies related to dialogue vs. rhetoric.
Be on Board for Some Musical Entertainment
The festival boasts of some finest performances by famous musical maestros. One can start their morning by listening to popular vocalists like Anirban Bhattacharya, Gayatri Kaundinya, Nathoo Lal Solanki, Chugge Khan, Suman Yadav, and Amit Kaur Lohia. As experts of classical and folk music, these singers are all geared up to wow the audience with some awesome melodies.
