Kerala's Ramayana-themed park
Transpired from the lost fragment of thousands of years old fable, Jatayu National Park is ready to start its journey from 2016. This rock theme adventure park is going to add an extra juncture in the journey of Kerala Tourism. Built to endorse Indian mythology and adventure, this park is based on the mythological character ‘Jatayu’, who heroically died while saving Sita from the captivity of Ravana.
This park sprawling on 65 acres of land is located in Chadayamanglam village, 38 Km from Kollam city. One of the much awaited tourist destinations of Kerala, the park is a public private partnership initiative between the Kerala government and Guruchandrika Builders and Property Private Limited.

World’s Largest Bird Sculpture
When open, the most arresting attraction of the park will be the world’s largest sculpture of a bird – an imitation of the mythical Jatayu. This sculpture measuring 200 feet in length, 150 feet in breadth, and 70 feet in height is situated at an altitude of 1,000 feet on a hill. Set on a platform of 15,000 square feet, it has been developed by renowned Malayalam film director Rajiv Anchal. The sculpture is constructed on the exact spot where it is believed that the Jatayu fell after being hit down by Ravana. The lofty concrete structure which took seven years to build brings around the glory of the warrior bird.
Tourist visiting the park will be able to enjoy an exciting ride on first state-of-the-art cable car of South India. The amazing climb to 1000 feet hill will give the aerial view of the underneath park.
Ayurvedic Cave Resort
Have you ever fascinated that how prehistoric men used to live in caves? If yes, then here is a chance to spend some time in rock dwellings. Jatayu Nature Park will offer fine staying place in the form of ancient caves. These caves furnished with all the modern facilities will provide in-house Ayurvedic packages with organic diet.
The Adventure Zone
The adventure zone of the park will include more than twenty games including paint ball, archery, rifle shooting, and laser tag. This part of the park will also give you a chance to test your adrenaline level through rock climbing, trekking and bouldering.
To get the bird’s eye view of the Jatayu Nature Park and nearby locations, Heli taxi service will be offered. What can be more exciting than experiencing to behold the scenic place with the same sight once Jatayu would have.
A 1.5 Km path is also being constructed to reach the giant sculpture. This path which is in the form of upstairs, will take you through the rocky path of forest.
The adventure park will have a 6D theatre and a digital museum inside it. This theatre will parade the sights of Ramayana. A telescope has also been installed at the platform of the sculpture which will give a closer look of the lush green periphery of the park.
