Doodhsagar Falls

Location – 60 Km from Panjim, in Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary, on the Karnataka-Goa border.

Best Time to Visit – Monsoon (July to September)

Doodhsagar Fall, one of the highest waterfalls of India is located on the Mandovi River. The full-bloomed beauty of this milky white gushing waterfall can be best seen during Monsoon season. The fall, situated in a rich bio diversity area, is a favourite picnic spot or weekend gateway for the nearby travellers and families from Goa, Pune, Mumbai and Karnataka. Spilling from a height of 300 meters, this waterfall offers stunning shots for your camera.

Chapora Fort      

Location – Vagator Beach, Bardez, North Goa

Best Time to Visit – Anytime of the year

Opening Hours – From 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Situated high above the Chapora River, Chapora Fort is an intriguing place for history buffs and photo freaks. This 18th century structure, which is in ruined state got prominence when it was featured in famous Bollywood movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. The structure comprises stone walls, a gate, bastions, some barracks and bushes. The place is perfect to get awesome views of Chapora River to Vagator beach. Evening times are the most suitable to visit the site for a pleasurable and breezy atmosphere.

Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park

Location – Near Molem town, at a driving distance of 57 Km from Panjim

Best Time to Visit – Monsoon (July to September)

Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary encompasses a large span of rich flora and fauna in an area of 240 square kilometres. The protected area is a habitat for a number of mammals and bird species including Langur, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Spotted Deer, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Emerald Duck and many more species. The sanctuary is also famous for a variety of snakes. There are many attractions in and within the sanctuary like Tamdi Surla Temple, Devils Canyon, sunset points and famous Dudh Sagar Falls.

Amboli

Location – 90 Km from Panjim

Best Time to Visit – Throughout the year

Situated in the Sahayadri Hills of Maharashtra, Amboli is the nearest hill station to Goa. This is one of the scenic places, which attends as a popular weekend gateway from Goa. With pleasant climate, lush green surrounding and beautiful waterfalls, this romantic place is quite popular among honeymooners. There are a number of nearby attractions from Amboli like – Hiranyakeshi Temple, Nagatta Falls, Narayana Gadh, historic Botanical Gardens, Shrigaonkar, Mahadev Gadh & sea view point at this spot.

Chorla Ghat

Location – Goa-Karnataka-Maharashtra border, 50 Km north-east from Panjim

Best Time to Visit – During Monsoon Season (July to September)

Set at an altitude of 800 meter, Chorla Ghat falls in the parts of Western Ghats in the Sahyadri Mountain range. The place, which is covered by thick green sub-tropical forest, boasts of some rare species of wild life. A bike ride during rainy season is the best way to get drenched in the natural beauty of the place, when you can have some of the stunning views on the way. Atop of the Ghat gives panoramic sights of Anjumen Dam area. The other popular attractions, which can be explored while visiting this area, are the Twin Vajira Waterfalls and Peak of Lasni Temb.
